FLORIDA FLY FISHING LOCATIONS
Although Captain Austin primarily launches his inshore saltwater fly fishing charters out of Boca Grande, Charlotte Harbor is surrounded by numerous other service locations. He keeps his boat on his trailer and often lauches at various boat ramps throuhout Charlotte Harbor and surrounding waters including the Myakka and Peace Rivers, Lemon Bay, Pine Island Sound and Matlacha Sound. Keep in mind that Boca Grande is a short drive from most places in Florida and always worth the trip.
Boca Grande Fly Fishing
For Boca Grande Fly Fishing Charters and trips Capt. Austin takes full advantage of his privileges at the Innlet "Boat-el" Boat Ramp. This private Boca Grande Boat Ramp has all the amenities including a roomside pickup, and restauraunt providing excellent breakfast and luches.
Placida Fly Fishing
For Placida Fly Fishing Charters and Trips Capt Austin launches at Placida Park, a public boat ramp that keeps running times short when he feels the time is right for fishing waters near historic Placida, Florida
Englewood Beach and Manasota Key Fly Fishing
For Englewood Beach and Manasota Key Fly Fishing Charters and trips Capt. Austin Launches at the Oyster Creek Public Ramp. This ramp offers close running to nearby flats loaded with redfish and snook and makes for a nice meeting place when the time is right for Lemon Bay Fly Fishing.
Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte Fly Fishing
For Punta Gorda Fly Fishing Charters and trips, Capt. Austin takes advantage of the Spring lake Boat Ramp in Port Charlotte for Port Charlotte Fly Fishing, and the boat ramp in Punta Gorda, at Ponce de Leon Park for Punta Gorda Fly Fishing. These boat ramps make fishing in those areas an easy ride to the flats in surrounding water.
North Port Fly Fishing
For North Port Fly Fishing Charters and Trips we often meet in Boca Grande or Launch at the El Jobean Public boat ramp.
Naples Fly Fishing
For Naples Fly Fishing Charters and trips, my clients who live in Naples feel like the drive to Charlotte Harbor is worth a little windshield time. The sight fishing on our clear flats offers a different perspective on flats fishing than the dirty waters of the everglades. Charlotte Harbor offers consistent sight fishing while the Everglades and 10,000 island's sight fishing is often limited to low tides.
Palm Island Fly Fishing
For Palm Island Fly Fishing Charters and Trips, Capt. Austin can pick you up on Palm Island or we can meet in other locations throughout the estuary. Palm Island and Knight Island are located right in the middle of Lemon Bay and are surrounded by redfish and snook.
Matlacha Fly Fishing
For Matlacha Fly Fishing Charters and Trips, Capt. Austin usually launches on Boca Grande and makes the 25 minute Boat Ride to Matlacha Soud. Matlacha Sound has some of the most beautiful flats and creeks in Florida and he loves fishing that area. Matlacha snook, redfish and tarpon are worth the boat ride. If the wind makes the harbor too rough for crossing we will trailer to Matlacha Pass and launch at one of the local private ramps.
Captiva and Sanibel Island Fly Fishing
For Captiva Fly Fishing Charters and Trips many of Austin's clients stay at the South Sea's Plantation and we meet at the T-dock at South Sea's. For North Captiva Isand Fly Fishing Charters I often pick up at the local airstrip. We generally fish Pine Island Sound on these fly fishing charters.
